BOARD OF EDUCATION MEETING MINUTES

 

December 2, 2015

Business Math Room

4:00 PM

 

 

The Highmore-Harrold School Board of Education met in special session on December 2, 2015 in the High School business room at 4:00 pm. Members present: Michael Bollweg, Paula Haiwick, Paul Knox, Jim Stephenson. Others present: Superintendent Chip Sundberg, Business Manager Mark Chilson, Principal Quinton Cermak.

Vice President Bollweg called the meeting to order from at 4:00 pm.

The pledge of allegiance was recited.

Haiwick/Knox moved to approve the agenda. The motion passed.

Stephenson/Knox moved to reconvene the November 17 Special Board Meeting with the same members present at that time (Bollweg, Haiwick, Stephenson, Knox). The motion passed.

Haiwick/Stephenson moved to enter into executive session for personnel matter (SDCL 1-25-2-1) at 4:05 pm. The motion passed.

The Board came out of executive session at 4:28 pm.

            Haiwick/Stephenson moved to terminate, effective immediately, the employment contract of Mr. Mullen with the Highmore-Harrold School District 34-2, for just cause as stated in the Board’s Decision, findings of Fact and Conclusions of Law, which are hereby adopted. Roll call vote: Haiwick-aye; Knox-aye, Stephenson-aye, Bollweg-aye. The motion passed 4-0.

            At this time the Board members that were not present at the November 17 meeting entered the meeting: Rittel and Semmler; Buchholz was absent.

President Rittel resumed her duties as Board President as this time.

          Haiwick/Bollweg moved to enter into executive session for personnel matter (SDCL 1-25-2-1) at 4:35 pm.

            The Board came out of executive session at 5:34 pm.

            The Board held a discussion on teacher recruitment/retention of a second semester English Position.

            Semmler/Stephenson moved to adjourn at 5:34 pm. The motion passed.
